AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 153 OF THE NEWBERRY COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES ALTERING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CONDITIONAL USE OF A MANUFACTURED HOME AS A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE DURING CONSTRUCTION OF A PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN ZONING DISTRICT R-2

 

WHEREAS, § 6-29-710 et seq. of the South Carolina Code of Laws 1976, as amended, provides that counties may regulate land use through zoning in accordance with its adopted comprehensive plan;

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED THAT:    

 

            In § 153.069 “R-2 RURAL DISTRICT” under R-2 Conditional Uses for the specific conditional use of a single-wide or multi-section manufactured home that meets all HUD standards to be used as a temporary residence by the owner of the property during the construction of a permanent residence, strike condition number 1 which reads “(1) The building lot is of sufficient size to permit the location of the manufactured home in such a way that both structures meet the minimum yard requirements;” and renumber the remaining five conditions appropriately.

 

 

            AND IT IS SO ORDAINED by Newberry County Council this 4th day of June,

 

2008 in meeting duly assembled at Newberry, South Carolina.
