COUNTY OF NEWBERRY            )

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION III OF ORDINANCE NO. 04-14-07, THE NEWBERRY COUNTY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR COUNTY ORDINARY AND OTHER PURPOSES, TO PROVIDE FOR REVISED REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES RELATED TO CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR THE RESCUE SQUAD 14 BUILDING AND THE NEWBERRY COUNTY LIBRARY.

 

WHEREAS, Newberry County Council is empowered under § 4-9-30 (5)(a) of the South Carolina Code of Laws 1976, as amended, to make appropriations for functions and operations of the county; and      

 

WHEREAS, Newberry County Council has deemed it necessary, subsequent to the passage of its annual budget ordinance, to revise certain capital budgets to provide for library and emergency rescue purposes; and

 

WHEREAS, Purposes pertaining to these projects are specifically enumerated in § 4-9-30 (5)(a) of the South Carolina Code of Laws 1976, as amended.    

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED THAT the following revenue and expenditure amendments to Ordinance No. 04-14-07 be enacted.

 

 

SECTION III. CAPITAL BUDGETS

 

A.        Rescue Squad 14 Building           

 

Under “RESCUE SQUAD 14 BUILDING,” and under the sub-heading “SOURCE,” insert after the line item “Rural Fire Control” a line item identified as “General Obligation Bond,” and insert for the new line item the corresponding amount of $50,000.  Change “TOTAL” to reflect the new total revenue amount of $461,761. 

 

Under the sub-heading “ACTIVITY/DEPARTMENT” for “RESCUE SQUAD 14 BUILDING,” strike all that follows that sub-heading and insert the following in lieu thereof.

 

Construction                             $368,000

            Testing                                                 5,000

            Architect/Engineering                   36,000

            Project Management                     12,880

            Contingency                                 39,881

            TOTAL                                  $461,761

 

 

B.            Newberry County Library

 

Under “NEWBERRY COUNTY LIBRARY,” and under the sub-heading “SOURCE,” delete the line item “Sales of Downtown Site” and the corresponding amount of $190,000; insert after the line item “Capital Project Sales Tax” a line item identified as “Capital Giving Campaign,” and insert for the new line item the corresponding amount of $1,300,000; insert after the line item “Capital Giving Campaign” a line item identified as “Capital Project Sales Tax Bond Interest,” and insert for the new line item the corresponding amount of $72,775.  Change “TOTAL” to reflect the new total revenue amount of $4,357,192.

 

Under the sub-heading “ACTIVITY/DEPARTMENT,” strike all that follows that heading and insert the following in lieu thereof.
