Born
in Newberry County, he is the son of Louise and Elmer R.
"Brut" Baker. He and his wife Lou of 40 years have three
children and six grandchildren.
He
is a graduate of Whitmire High School and Oglethorpe University in
Atlanta, GA with a BS in business administration.
As
President and owner of W.E. Baker and Sons, Inc in Whitmire, he has
been in construction for over 35 years.
He
is a member of the Whitmire United Methodist Church and has served
as Chairman of the Trustees and Finance Committees.
He
was elected to County Council in 2005.
