Councilman
Stockman
was
born January 6, 1954 at the Newberry County Hospital on Hunt Street.
He is the son of the late Robert K. (Bo) Stockman and Annie Rose Long
Stockman and is a life long resident of the Fairview Community. He
has six brothers and one sister, all of whom are living in the
Fairview Community with their families.
His
parents were local small business owners of Robert K. Stockman, Inc.
and Stockman's Barbeque. He gained much knowledge by working closely
with his mother and father from his high school years until their
retirement in 1987.
He
is married to Teresa McCartha
Stockman and has
two wonderful step children, Lindsay and Drew Moore.
He
is a life long active member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church in
Little Mountain and has served on various committees throughout the
years including the Budget, Finance and Property Committees. He
is also
an active member and past President of the Little Mountain Ruritan Club.
Councilman
Stockman graduated from Mid Carolina High School and in 1993
graduated from the South Carolina Bankers School at the College of
Business Administration, University of South Carolina.
In
1988, he began his banking career with Midlands National Bank.
During his 15 years in the banking industry, he was involved in the
planning, organizing and start up of The Bank of Newberry County as
the Executive Vice President of Lending. His experience in the
banking industry ranges from consumer and commercial lending to
supervising all lending personnel.
In
2002, he founded Rolling "S" Farms and Investment Co.,
Inc. with his wife . They work together farming, producing horse
grade Coastal Bermuda hay for sale to local and out of state clients.
In 2005, they founded
Rolling "S" Mortgage and work together brokering
residential, commercial and agricultural mortgage loans.
Councilman
Stockman stated, " It is
truly an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of our great
county. I look forward to the challenges at hand as we work hard to
move Newberry County forward. As your Councilman, I encourage
everyone to get involved and I welcome your input and ideas. We all
have to work together to achieve our goals."
