Question: What is the charge for
spaying/neutering my pet?
Answer:
The charge for either procedure
(spay or neuter) is $30, regardless of the animal's size or other
factors (dogs
and cats only)
that typically affect charges related to animal sterilization
surgery. If you cannot show proof of your pet's rabies vaccination,
there is an additional $10 charge. The $10 charge covers the cost of
administering the rabies vaccination at the time of the spay/neuter
surgery. Complete payment of all charges must be made prior to staff
confirming any scheduling details related to your pet's spay/neuter
surgery. If you are currently unemployed or can demonstrate other
financial hardship, you may qualify to receive spay/neuter procedures
for your pet free of charge. If you feel you may qualify for this
consideration, please make this known up front. All payments are non-refundable,
unless procedures are cancelled at least two weekdays (Mon. - Fri.)
in advance.
Question: How do I schedule an appointment
to have my pet spayed or neutered?
Answer:
Call Newberry County Animal Services at 321-2185. Our staff will
be glad to assist you in scheduling your pet's spay/neuter procedure
(dogs and cats only). Complete payment must be made prior to staff
confirming any scheduling details related to your pet's spay/neuter
surgery. Come prepared at the time of payment to show your pet's
proof of rabies vaccination; otherwise, there is an additional $10
charge to cover the cost of administering the vaccination at the time
of surgery.
All payments are non-refundable, unless procedures are cancelled
at least two weekdays (Mon. - Fri.) in advance.
Question: Where does the spay/neuter
procedure take place, and how will my pet get there and back?
Answer:
If the procedure takes place prior to February 27, the likely
provider will be Triangle Veterinary Clinic in Union, SC (1312
Pinckney Street). Beyond that date, the likely provider will be the
Pawmetto Lifeline clinic located on Bower Parkway in Harbison area of

Your pet will be returned to you on the following day. (You will be
notified of the approximate return time when you drop off your pet on
