**ECLIPSE INFO FOR 8/21/17**
The Newberry County Airport has received a high volume of calls related to pilots who wish to fly in to view the solar eclipse on 8/21. We have a limited number of tie downs on our paved apron (9), but we have arranged for temporary plane parking along the taxiway on the grass. We have no way of knowing how many will fly in, so we recommend getting here early. There will be fuel available (100LL) and portable toilets. If you would like anything else, you will have to bring it with you. NOTAM's will be issued in case of any runway closures.
Newberry County Airport was built in 1946 and consisted of two grass runways. We have a new asphalt runwaywhich was constructed October 2008 that is 4,000 feet long and 75 feet wide.
The field has a 65 foot, rotating beacon and a lighted windsock, which operates from dusk to dark. The runway and taxiway lights are activated by keying the radio frequency (122.8) five times.
Avgas (100LL) is also available 24 hrs per day by major credit card.
We have 14 based aircraft hangered. At present time, there are no available hangers. We do have 5 tie downs available.
Current approaches is VFR only.
