Glass items - Please separate by color - brown & clear.
The County no longer accepts green or blue glass for recycling. All
food residues must be removed and containers rinsed.
Newspapers, Magazines and Office Paper are collected together.
Also in this container you can place any item that can be torn by
hand, for example paper egg cartons, school books (after hard cover
has been removed), and soda boxes.If the
container has a waxy coating or is contaminated with food it cannot
be taken. NO plastic bags.
Cardboard - no food contaminated cardboard such as pizza
boxes. All cardboard has to be flattened out before placing in the
container. If the container has a waxy coating or is contaminated
with food it cannot be taken. The cardboard only consists of the kind
that has the wavy center (corrugated cardboard).
Used oil every site has a tank where you can place used oil,
Newberry (Dixie Drive) Site has a gas/oil mixture tank. Beaver dam
Site collects oil from farm equipment, limit 55 gallons per visit.
Oil Filters and Oil bottles can be carried to any site, the
bottle need to be placed on the racks to be drained of any excess oil
before placing in container for recycling.
Metals - washer/dryers, refrigerators,
stoves,
etc
(No automotive parts or materials, for example filters, engines, and
engine components) Any appliance with Freon needs to be placed at a
specific site at each center, the Freon will be collected properly to
keep it from escaping into the environment. Freon is in ACs
refrigerators and freezers.
Tires -4 tires per month, no large tires, this service is for
residents not businesses
Batteries used automotive, marine, and lawn mower
batteries only.
Plastic Bottles soft drink, milk, and other narrow-neck
plastic bottles marked by a number #1 or #2 recycling symbol
(usually found on the bottom). NO plastic bags, hard plastic
(toys, kids pools), vinyl siding, or food plastic unless it is
in bottle form.
Yard debris tree limbs, leaves, or brush. No building
material, railroad ties or large stumps are accepted to be recycled.
No trash or plastic bags. This kind of material is only accepted at
the Transfer Station on Hwy 34.
Computers and Electronics (e-recycling) SC passed a
legislation which was effective July 1, 2011, this law states that a
resident may not knowingly place or discard a computer, computer
monitor, printer or television in any waste stream that is to be
disposed of in a solid waste landfill. To see more on this new

Aluminum Cans beverage cans only. No cat food
cans, pie plates or aluminum foil.
