Convenience centers |
|

The county has 11 convenience
centers located thru out the county. The centers accept only
residential waste, all commercial and business waste must be taken to
the Newberry County Transfer Station, 11374 SC Hwy 34, Newberry. |

The following items will be accepted: |
|
|
Household trash
Metals - washer/dryers,
refrigerators, stoves, etc.
(No automotive parts or
materials, for example filters, engines, and engine components)
Furniture
Tires -4 tires per visit
|

|
|
RECYCLABLE ITEMS: |
|
|
Glass items - Please separate
by color - brown, green, & clear. All food
residues must be removed and
containers rinsed.
Newspapers
Magazines
Office paper
Cardboard - no food
contaminated cardboard such as pizza boxes
Used oil, oil filters, &
oil bottles

DRIVING DIRECTIONS |
|
The Transfer Station on SC Hwy 34 approximately 1
mile from I-26. Newberry County Does not have a C&D landfill, so
limited materials will be accepted, contact The Transfer Station at
(803) 276-8588 or the Public Works Department at (803) 321-2180 for
accepted materials.
All Commercial, business, and contractors are
required to obtain a dump permit prior to acceptance of any materials
and pay a tipping fee per ton, which is posted at the scales.
The following items will not
be accepted:
-
Pressure treated materials
- Pallets stained with oil or other material
- Trees larger than 12" in diameter
- Tree or plant root balls
- Yard debris must be removed from plastic bags
or containers.
