Notice of Potential Meeting/Quorum of Newberry County Council
The members of Newberry County Council have been invited by the Plantation Pointe Homeowners’ Association to attend a meeting concerning a proposed subdivision adjacent to their neighborhood. This meeting will be held in the Newberry County Council Chambers at 1309 College Street in Newberry on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. Though a quorum of Newberry County Council may be present, this is not a scheduled County Council meeting. No County business is scheduled for discussion or action. However, in keeping with both the spirit and letter of the SC Freedom of Information Act (Code Section 30-4-10 et seq., SC Code of Laws), this notice is posted to the public 1) at the location of this meeting, 2) on the County’s web site, www.newberrycounty.net.
At its meeting on March 4, 2020, Newberry County Council will consider second readings of nine ordinances that would rezone property pertaining to the proposed neighborhood that will be discussed. That action is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on March 4, 2020, in the auditorium room of Piedmont Technical College, which is located at 1922 Wilson Road in Newberry. The rezoning ordinances (Ordinances No. 02-04-20 through 02-12-20) concern nine parcels that would all be rezoned from various zoning district designations to the Single Family Residential (RSM) zoning district. As a group, these nine parcels are bounded by Hollands Landing Road, Granny Hill Road, Circle H. Woods Road and Peninsula Drive in Prosperity.
